Enjoyable Worship!
Psalms 122:1: “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
II Chronicles 5:13: “So that the priest could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house.”
“Oh the joy that floods my soul!” There are very few experiences quite like that of true worship! It is one of the many things that makes going to church different from going anywhere else! You just don’t get the indescribable blessedness of the literal presence of God while partying in a Nightclub, dancing to the latest secular song, cheering at your favorite sports event or even getting inspired by a motivational speaker. No this only comes through worship. Worship has a beauty and wonderfulness that cannot be duplicated by anything else! Just what is worship? Well to make it simple it is when you express your sincere love, admiration, appreciation and respect for God to God. Whenever we communicate from our hearts these feelings while realizing how unworthy we are of His goodness towards us, something wonderful happens. The Lord in turn responds to our devotion with His presence and oh what a wonderful presence (the anointing) He has. When the anointing comes you feel this indescribable peace and a joy that seems to flood your total being. It’s so awesome that you feel like bowing before Him because you realize how holy He is yet there’s a feeling of comfort and love. I’ve seen people dance, not by choice, but under the power of God. I’ve seen the sick become well, the depressed receive joy, oppressed get free, answers through revelation knowledge given to those seeking answers and everyone intoxicated by the presence of God. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the ministers were on the floor prostrate before the Lord unable to stand up and minister. It was glorious! In worship people express themselves with an array of emotions. Some show a lot of emotion lifting their hands in the air expressing much praise to God and still others just sit there with a smile on their faces rocking side to side smacking their lips as if they had something sweet in their mouths. Of course there are others who are moved to tears. I am not saying that during worship you become crazy and lose your mind, but that you become so enraptured with the living God that your worse troubles and anyone around you do not matter. Don’t forget, worship is communicating with God and while you are busy loving up on the Lord, He is also busy loving up on you letting you know that He has it all in control.
