On Thursday, September 20, 2007 Crossroads Connection Inc. Youth Center has opened its doors and is in need your help. Here’s why, Darnell is nineteen years old, he has three children, reads on the third grade level and does not have a job. Jayhida is 15 years old has poor attendance and grades and is at risk of not graduating. Yet she wants to earn community service credits at Crossroads Connection as requirement to graduate from High School. Their situations are not isolated incidents, but are reflective of circumstances faced by many community youth.

Please consider making a minimum donation of $249.00 or more. Of course, any amount will be graciously appreciated. Your financial support is needed now.

For the past two years, Crossroads Connection has been providing counseling and other critical intervention services that have brought stability to the lives of numerous children and families living in South Jamaica and surrounding communities. Our new facility located at 112-27 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in South Jamaica, will increase our organizational capacity, allow us to aggressively respond to the critical needs of our young people, offer educational and employment opportunities to address their overall wellbeing. To accomplish this, the Center will offer innovative programs to support youth in their transition to adulthood and it will serve as a resource for parents and the community.

Our goal at Crossroads Connection is to equip young people with the tools they will need to succeed as adults, lead productive lives and become contributing members of the community. To meet this goal, we need your support and commitment to help improve the lives of youth growing up in South Jamaica, and neighboring communities.

While Southeast Queens is home to some of the City’s best institutions and offers a wide range of social services, it still has major challenges such as spiraling rates of crime and unemployment, and low educational attainment among young people. There are no overnight solutions. However, if we band together and commit to making an investment in our children, we can interrupt the cycle of poverty and its root causes. By giving our young people a better way of living; we will yield higher dividends for all of us who live and work in our community. 

Your financial contribution will allow us provide quality programs for youth ages 13 to 21, who otherwise might not live up to their full potential. All donations are tax deductible and can be made by check or via JustGive.Org.
